Static hamstring stretching can only take you so far. The only way to maintain your flexibility gains is to incorporate dynamic stretching in you plan. One great way is to perform the crossover doorway stretch. First put the foot of your stretching side up on a door frame and your non-stretched leg straight on the ground through the doorway. Be sure that your foot is high enough on the door frame that you feel a light stretch in your hamstring. Next perform a cross over crunch taking your non-stretch side elbow to the outside of your stretch-side knee.
